DDR5

DDR5 is a generation of synchronous dynamic random-access memory designed for compatible computing platforms. Compared with DDR4, it introduces a different architecture, operates at 1.1V and supports higher data rates. DDR5 modules require a DDR5-compatible system.

RDIMMs are commonly used in compatible servers and enterprise systems, U-DIMMs in compatible desktops, workstations and embedded systems, and SO-DIMMs in compact or space-constrained platforms. Confirm the supported form factor with the system or motherboard manufacturer.

DDR5 devices include on-die error correction within the DRAM component, but this is not the same as system-level ECC memory. Module-level ECC and registered or unbuffered architecture vary by part number and must be supported by the host platform.
